BYD Atto 2 unveiled – New compact SUV for Europe
At the Brussels Motor Show 2025, BYD will present the Atto 2 as a compact and affordable electric SUV for the European market. All information and pictures!
BYD is steadily expanding its product range outside China and is now introducing the BYD Atto 2. As a compact, electric city SUV, it rounds off the Chinese manufacturer's range at the lower end.

After BYD recently introduced the BYD Sealion 7 to Europe as well, the Atto 2 is now another offering to boost the Chinese giant's European business.
BYD Atto 2: Exterior
Although the BYD Atto 2 is an SUV, it is designed for the urban jungle rather than actual, difficult terrain. In terms of dimensions, it is relatively compact in order to get through city traffic easily and also to find parking spaces. 4,310 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and 1,675 mm high make it slightly shorter and slimmer than the BYD Atto 3. The wheelbase of 2,620 mm still ensures that you have relatively good space in the interior.
With slim headlights and clear lines, the Atto 2 is supposed to look dynamic despite the SUV shape. In other aspects, however, BYD emphasizes the box shape, such as the short overhangs or the highlighted sills.
The rear of the BYD Atto 2 is dominated by the taillights, whose signature is intended to be reminiscent of traditional Chinese knots. The lights are connected by a thin light strip, while the upper part of the rear is attracted by a roof edge spoiler.
For further individualisation, there are four paint finishes to choose from: Hiking Green, Skiing White, Cosmos Black and Climbing Grey.
BYD Atto 2: Battery and range
The Atto 2 is to be offered in Europe in two battery sizes. Initially, however, there is only the standard size 45.1 kWh. A larger battery will follow at a later date. The Atto 2 is powered by a 177 hp engine via the front wheels. Further details, such as charging capacity, are not yet known and will follow over time until the market launch in March. We will keep you updated as soon as new details become known.
BYD Atto 2: Interior
The interior of the Atto 2 is well known to BYD connoisseurs. A large infotainment screen in the middle dominates the minimalist cockpit, in which otherwise only the angular, digital instrument display stands out.
Buttons and knobs can only be found on the steering wheel, the inside of the doors and on the center console next to the gear lever. The rest of the interior is mainly used as storage areas. There are two cup holders in the centre and storage areas under the middle armrest. In terms of storage space, the BYD Atto 2 should be more than enough for everyday urban use. The trunk holds 400 or 1,340 liters with the rear seat folded down.
BYD Atto 2: Sales launch and price
BYD has not yet been able to elicit anything about the price of the Atto 2, but it should be between the BYD Dolphin and the Atto 3. Due to the fact that numerous competitors in the segment such as the Peugeot e-2008 or the Citroen C3 are rather inexpensive, the Atto 2 should also be available at a good price. The BYD Atto 2 is then to be introduced in Germany from March 2025. As soon as an exact date and concrete prices are known, we will update the article for you.
